Beta Team

Before a book meets the world, it meets a few trusted readers. If you love being early, and you can be honest with kindness, there may be a seat for you.

The role

What beta readers do

Read early drafts

You read chapters months before release, in a private reading room.

Mark what moves you

Highlight the lines that land and the places where your attention drifts.

Tell the truth, kindly

A short form after each part: what you felt, what you’d keep, what confused you.

Thank you, in advance

What you get

  • A signed copy of the finished book, sent before release day
  • Your name in the acknowledgements, if you’d like it there
  • A seat at a private beta-team call where I share what changed because of you
  • First word on every new project
Time commitment

About three hours a week, for a few weeks

  1. Apply

Tell me what you love to read. I choose a small team for each book.

  2. Read

Each round runs two to three weeks, about three hours a week.

  3. Reply

A short form after each part. Ten minutes, honest answers.

  4. Celebrate

Your signed copy arrives, and the book carries a little of you.
